New semester, new energy

Colleagues and friends,

Now that fall semester is in full swing, there is no denying the energy you feel when you step on campus. Everywhere you look there are reminders of why we are here: students heading to class, faculty planning their next lecture, and staff enabling the important work being done.

We all should tap into that energy as we go about our daily business. It represents why we are here and connects us with our purpose that I discussed in our last webinar.

That’s also why I am excited about the work ahead as we seek to optimize what we do in IT. The first presentations of the Reimagining IT plan have gone well, and I look forward to sharing it with you on October 3 at our all-staff meeting. The plan lays the groundwork for our journey, but everyone’s input into how we reach our destination is important.

The Reimagining IT team was deliberate in gathering input from across the University while the plan was developed, and input will continue to be important as we work together to fill in details.

This is an exciting time for Penn State IT, and I look forward to the journey with you.

Best regards,
Michael
